Duke's Paradijs puppy rules.

What DP expect from you

  • You should not work full time, people have to work that is understandable but people do not have to have a puppy to survive. Do not be selfish in this, raising a puppy cost time and attention. A puppy should not be alone for 8-10 hours aday. If the puppy has company, an other dog or even a dog friendly cat, during the time the owners work and has space to move around and play then it is no problem, but it is preferred that the puppy has human company for a big part of the day.
  • To treat the puppy as part of the family.
  • If for whatever reason you cannot keep the dog it should always come back to Duke's Paradijs. No dog is replaced without first contact DP, it is very important for me to know where the puppies are and with whom they live.
  • You may not expect me to hand over a puppy before the age of 8-9 weeks, even that it is legal to sell a puppy of 7 weeks old for me it is too young.
  • You have to sign DP's selling contract. This will be downloadable later on as a pdf file from this page.

What you can expect from DP

  • As far as DP knows both parents of a litter are free of genetic defects.
  • DP will never breed with dogs that have a known serious genetic defect.
  • Both parents are checked for PRA, only dogs with a negative result on this test are used for breeding.
  • Dogs imported from abroad get a hearth test too.
  • Every puppy buyer get a DVD with tips/useful addresses and pictures from the day on the puppy is born including some video recordings.
  • DP will only sell a puppy under a contract that is fair to the buyer and breeder. This means that DP responsibilities do not stop at the age of one year of the dog. If genetic faults appear on a later age DP feels responsible and will act like what can be expected from a responsible breeder.
